Daniels ends chance for Bears late game rush

I missed the game, but I heard it was a good one, especially for the end when Daniels seemed to be involved in some entanglements with the Bears players, "taking it for the team" as they say, allowing the Ice Demons to finish off the Bears, 5-3. The end of season record vs the Bears was 2-1-0.

I might add that it's amazing to me that the Bears only have one victory this season. Apparently, their newly acquired star "Davis" was in the net for them this time, and did a good job. They seem to be just 1-2 players short of a team that could certainly be near or over .500. Then again, a few teams are like that in this league.

You guys can comment here on who had what, along with any other comments.

See you this coming Saturday for our last end of regular season game vs the Phantoms at 4pm. Free tickets are still available so bring out the family/friends/booster club members!

Ice Demons unable to fend off Stars relentless attacks, lose 6-2

The Stars kept attacking through all 3 periods, beating the Ice Demons 6-2 in an exciting game, bringing the regular season record all even between both teams, 1-1-1.

The Stars goalie, Steve Bell, stole the show, making several great saves, including one that I would have bet Mitch's league pay on was in the goal for sure. Zimmy fed a nice pass to Zeke in the slot and Zeke got all of it, blasting it to the top right of the net....or so I thought. Nope...Bell made the save. Incredible. That was certainly something to send into the Versus network for the Monday Recap replay section!

"Where's the camera when you need it?" Bip got a few penalties in succession in the 2nd period, and at one point, the penalty box had 4 Ice Demons players in there, not to mention the two kids (Luke Blankenhorn and Brandon Babcock), who had to sit on the cones as there wasn't enough room on the bench. One of the players had to stand, even! And, if you can believe it, I was NOT one of the guys in the box this time. Actually, I had one minor tripping penalty that was hardly a penalty (but that's another story--lol).

The MDL is off this coming Saturday, but then returns the following Saturday, when the Ice Demons will take on the Bears at 10:45 AM (morning game!) to conclude their regular season matchup. The currently season matchup is 1-1-0. The Ice Demons are the only team that the Bears have beaten all season. The 2nd game was close, too, so I'm sure it will be a good game to watch (and even more fun in which to play!).

Check out Mitch's posting here concerning plans for the 10th anniversary season starting this fall. It will be quite interesting, I'm sure. Perhaps there will be an over 30 or over 40 league? Not sure what "Alumni" will represent. My vote: I nominate the Ice Demons stay in one league and move the Crunch and Pugs over to the "other" league. hahaha....just kidding!

See you on the ice late Saturday morning on the 24th!

Ice Demons beat Hawks; win regular season series 2-0-1

I missed the game due to being out of state, but I heard it was a good one, with both goalies, especially Bip, standing on their heads to make great saves. Wish I could have been there, even to watch, as it sounded like a good game. Ice Demons rallied late in the 3rd to take the victory, 3-2, and take the overall regular season series unbeaten against the Hawks.

Guys can chime in here to post comments about the game.

It's no secret--we need to make sure that we do NOT finish 4th in our division, as we'd like someone else to play the Crunch for the first round. Looking at the stats now I see that they've got just one loss. Wow. Both top teams (Pugs in the East; Crunch in the West) are way above their 2nd place counterparts in terms of points in the standings. I think the stats would show their PIMs to be in the lowest as well. What does that say???!? Hey, somebody's gotta be the top team! Just think if I was not getting all of these penalties...we'd be in the running moreso perhaps! ;-)

See you guys this Saturday on the ice as we face the Stars at 2pm. Series for the regular season vs. the Stars is 1-0-1 coming into this game. Let's give them their right to lose and remain winless against us this season. (haha)
