Ice Demons hold off Hawks to win 5-3

Greg Carder pounded in 2 goals past the Hawks goaltender to help the Ice Demons beat the charging Hawks. It was an exciting game from start to finish, including an amazing come from behind by the Hawks to tie it @ 3-3 before the Ice Demons responded late in the 3rd period to take the victory.

New Hawks player Tony M. scored at least one, but for the most part was held in check by the Black and Red.

Brad Peifer made his MDL debut on defense, doing a good job to make up for Babs' feeble attempts at defense. ("Trade me right f*ckng now!") Jim Hulse was moved up to wing with Nate Wargo. Bip played brilliant yet again. He was the difference most likely in the goaltending battle for the day.

Other scorers besides Greg were Fred Sanford, Zimmy, and Andy Conrad. Star of the game goes to Greg!

Tim Patton was noticeably absent from the Hawks lineup. We probably would have thumped them if he were not a scratch. LOL!!!! (Just kidding, buddy!)

In all seriousness though, the Hawks appear to have a lot of talent. Emerson, Axl, Beil, Tony M., and others...we just got goals from key players when we needed it. Simply put: big players played like big players today for us.

Scratches were Doc, Jessie, Zeke, Mikey, and Roger.
