Ice Demons Roster for 2007-2008 season

See the ratings and notes posts below. If you're not on there, you need to let me know asap.

ROSTER CHANGES:
  • Jesse Snyder is unable to commit full time and will be "on call" as a part-timer
  • Dave Dierwechter and Joe O'Neil are part-timers sharing one spot
  • Bip has 2 guys who want to suit up with us...I'm not sure what kind of room we have player-wise, so it's critical that you guys tell us your commitment asap!! If we only have one spot open, these two will have to share that spot.
  • Roger Johnson has contacted Jack and wants back in. Jack told him that he not only has to have 100% of the money UP FRONT AT GAME 1, he also has to pay the back-money that he owes the team from the 2005-2006 season ($120). Jack and I said that if Roger pays his money as such, we'll petition the league to let him back in (...he may be on the blackballed list).
  • Mike Dancona needs to get in touch with me to let me know his intentions. I'm thinking that he's on the semi-retired list and like Jessie Snyder, wants us to call him "as needed."
A few other notes:
  • We'll be voting as a team (and the majority vote will win) for new jerseys. I'd like to get the WHITE/black/red like Buffalo's away jersey so that we no longer have to wear pennies. Expected cost of new jersey plus socks would be $50. That price would include matching socks.
  • The league cost has not been communicated to me yet (and I haven't dug deep into the MDL site--if somebody knows it, let me know asap), but I heard that they're proposing a 16 game schedule since there are going to be 9 teams this year. On top of that, they've fired the previous ref crew and are bringing in a new crew from the Lancaster area who are $15/game CHEAPER iirc. Let's hope they don't call even worse a game as last season's crew. Those 2 facts combined should tell us that this year's MDL bill SHOULD BE LESS. Nonetheless, plan on $450.
  • EVERYONE WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR THE OFFICIAL ICE DEMONS JERSEY. No more knock-offs. This is not league mandated but is MY rule. If you have a problem with that, let me know so we don't roster you. Because we're inevitably saving in league costs this year, we're going to take advantage of that and ensure we all match. I absolutely hate playing with a bunch of different jerseys. (I'm getting cranky in my 3-rated old age.)

I don't mind going part-time if it helps bring in some of these new guys. My concern is that I don't want us to have MORE THAN 13 guys there at a game. I don't want to skate more than 9 forwards and 4 defense...it's just not as fun and we all look forward to playing every week so let's make sure it's good.

Remember to email me asap or give me a call if you're roster status is either NOT full time or you're not listed above.

Thanks!

Daniels and Babcock represent Ice Demons at MDL session

Well, today it was Jack and myself representing the team. Our bench had 3 full Offense lines, and Jack and I teamed up with John Pogera (formerly of the Hawks) to make up one of the offensive lines. Other players on our team were from the Bears, Phantoms, Pythons, Pugs, Hawks, and Stars (at least).

We had a great time...despite the fact that there was only 1 goalie.

I'm taking my son to the Orioles/Yankees game next Saturday so I won't be there, but I think others will...perhaps Jack and Zimmy if I heard them right.

We still need SOMEONE to represent us at the MDL Rep meeting on Thursday. I'm always out of town during the week, working in Baltimore.

Ice Demons Training Camp, Team Tryouts

Well, actually everyone makes the team. Just wanted a headline to catch your eye.

I did 4.65 miles on the ellyptical the other day...what are YOU doing to get in shape for the season? Here's an idea: attend the Saturday sessions offered by the MDL!

Here's the link again for easy reference: http://mdlhockey.com/topstory2.htm

Now that I'm in Baltimore, I don't know if I'll make any Saturday pre-season outings since I'm spending that time with my kids (they're with their mother during the week)....but if they're not with me, I'll probably skate.

FORMAL REMINDER: START PUTTING MONEY ASIDE...ESTIMATED COST IS $450.
